Knowledge, attitude and practice towards emergency contraceptive pills and factors hindering its use among femareproductive age group visiting urban health centre at Rajbiraj, Nepal

Background: Unintended pregnancy, unplanned birth and unsafe abortion have been a major challenge to the reproductive health of women worldwide. Despite availability highly effective methods contraception, still many pregnancies are unwanted predisposing them higher risk mortality, often due abortion. These can be prevented using emergency contraceptive pills. This study aimed investigate knowledge, attitude practice pills factors hindering its use among females age group.Methods: Institution based cross-sectional was conducted 416 group visiting urban heath centre Rajbiraj, selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collected pretested semi-structured questionnaire after written informed consent. Descriptive & inferential statistics were used analyze data generated.Results: Out respondents, 34.6% aware majority (56.9%) got know it from Media. Among respondents who ECPs, 64% had good knowledge it, 90% positive towards ECPs 63% earlier. A significant association found between age, residence, educational level occupational status with awareness ECPs. Lack regarding has usage in emergencies prevent pregnancies.Conclusions: Awareness utilization is low terai region.
